ETBlogs Pop: Zombie coming home?

Regardless of his movies or music, Rob Zombie is actually a very intelligent guy. I think he would make a great graduation speaker but based on society's view of "his type" or whatever I doubt it will happen.

    I think it's a great idea!

Did Cendric the Entertainer really go to Haverhill High School?
  • Kyle · 1 year ago
Right, and Jay Leno will come back and speak at Andover High's graduation ceremony.

Yes, Cedric did go to Haverhill High. I'm not sure how long he lived in Haverhill though.
His real name is Cedric Kyles.
And Kyle -- I bet Jay would come back, if you asked him.

I'll bet if he could see what an inspiration and positive influence he has been to these kids, he would come back and speak to them!
    I'm all for it!!

    I think you're right Andrea.
I guess it's in the school's hands now -- I think Alan can make it work.

Of course Rob Zombie would make for a good speaker.
His dark films and rock music is more about the truth than what some sort of celebrated politician or some scholar that only excels at the subject matter he/she was taught would say. It is important that graduates are well aware that they are walking into a world where bullshit and corruption is the norm.

Ron, a bit gloomy, but also a good point: Rob Zombie does tell it like it is, and I think people from all walks of life respect that. Zombie has never pulled any punches, whether it's the way he feels about Haverhill or the state of the music industry.
I can't vouch for his public speaking skills, but I believe it would be incredibly interesting to see what he would come up with.

Now that we know that Cedric graduated from haverhill High, does the name "Roscoe Jenkins" come from the head janitor and former hockey coach, Roscoe "Bucky" Jenkins. There is a rumor that the dog in the movie is named "Bucky". This is more than a mere co-incidence.

I did not know this -- I'll look into it.
    When was this janitor there?
